CCETN focuses its housing programs on special populations for whom safe and stable community living may be difficult, if not impossible, to secure. These populations vary by community served and include:Homeless adults with HIV/AIDS, families with children, who are transitioning out of homelessness, adults with chronic and severe mental illness and seniors in a housing crisis and/or suffering abuse, neglect or other endangerment.
WIC is a nutrition program that helps the whole family learn about eating well and staying healthy. WIC helps thousands of families in Knox County with good food, helpful advice, and referrals to community resources. WIC serves pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under the age of five who qualify. The WIC Program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Ladies of Charity is a community partner with the United Way of Greater Knoxville. The primary mission is to serve the poor and under served in Knox County. The orgnization provides food, clothing and utility assistance. Special assistance for new mothers. Individuals needing assistance can walk in. Monday through Friday, at 9:30am to 4:00pm. We are on a first come, first serve basis, and require identification & social security cards.
Food Pantry on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 9 – 11am.
The Salvation Army, established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in JesusÕ name for 130 years in the United States. Provided services range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
This program serves individuals who may be at risk of losing their home. Needs are verified, and services are provided. Services include things such as bus tickets, rent assistance, and utility assistance. Vouchers are given instead of cash. Please call for eligibility.
