The children brought to our shelter are in an unstable and tenuous position. Taken from a situation of endangerment, they are not yet in state’s custody and are therefore ineligible for placement in foster or group homes. Our goal is to assist the courts in keeping children out of state’s custody and, if at all possible, placing them with appropriate relatives and providing them with needed support services.

Survivor Connect is a program developed by Tennessee Voices for Children with the goal of helping connect victims of crime to needed community resources.  A wraparound team works with the family and youth helping to provide support and link with necessary resources. This is more than case management and more than peer support. The Survivor Connect team seeks to link and work with all necessary providers to stabilize the family/victim and ensure all entities, like school, counselor, medical, and others, are coordinating, providing the best possible outcome for the family.
