Susannah’s House (SH) is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for pregnant women and women with children 0 to 3 years. SH is free and does not bill insurance and participants do not have to have insurance. They do accept moms on MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) and work with physicians to wean them off MAT. Free childcare and therapeutic child care is offered. SH recently received a grant to offer therapeutic preschool and to build residential housing. They have purchased land next to their building for housing. Participants take part in a 12-step program and receive education on health, mind and body. SH is a long-term program and participants don’t “graduate” but instead “transition” to sober living. Individuals meet with a therapist once a week and participate in other educational sessions. They receive SH “bucks” and are able to “shop” for clothing and items for their children. SH receives referrals through their website and paper referrals.
